And so far, it's been fairly chill. We went to my grandpa's farm, which isn't a REAL farm like the one in the song, it's actually just a broken-down barn, multiple trailers and campers that are decrepit and in disuse, and a huge assortment of scrap metal, broken antique trucks and power mowers, and various odd small items. (It's also the location of my grandma's grave--which is the main reason I went along.)

On a different day, we (my parents, two of my aunts, a cousin, and I) met my third and final aunt in Kansas City. We had lunch at a very crowded little hipster Thai place that wasn't very good. My cousin's bb was there too, and he ordered soup, which he drank with a straw. We also wandered around a cute little art shop called Artist and Craftsman--it's awesome, by the way, and if you're ever in KC you should definitely support them--and stopped at World Market on the way back to my aunt's house. I bought a French press and a set of stacking "ombre" mugs. What they mean by "ombre" is that the mug on top is very dark, and the one on bottom is much lighter, and the ones between are lighter than the top one but darker than the bottom one, and all the mugs are shades of blue and green. So the term doesn't quite apply really, but they're very cute.

We also did more shopping around here and in Lawrence than we probably really should have. I bought two pairs of shoes, some shirts, and two blazers. Mom bought some random things at the antique store in downtown Lawrence. We got people gifts at the Kansas Sampler. I had Dunkin Donuts for the first time, and loved it.

My cousin's bb is pretty adorable. He has become attached to me, kind of mysteriously because I'm not the kind of person who seeks out small children to play with at family gatherings (unlike my mom), and today he told me that he's going to learn "that language" (meaning Russian) when he gets bigger so that he can talk to me in it. Oh my god, he is so cute. He also always wants to show me his trains and his dinosaurs, and get me to watch YouTube videos of trains and dinosaurs with my aunt--not his grandmother, a different one--and to tell me whenever he gets a boo boo. This happens frequently, because he's very allergic to bug bites.

The only bad thing about the trip so far is that my dog bit the woman from our church who is watching her while we're gone, because she thought the poor girl was trying to take her cow femur joint bone thing. This is the first time she's ever bitten anyone, and the woman said it's fine and she'll still walk her and feed her until we get back, but wow. I can't believe Georgia did that! She's never bitten anyone before, but she does get aggressive when it comes to her toys. We are definitely going to start watching the Dog Whisperer when I get home, and work on the "leave it" command.

Anyway, the two reasons I wrote this boring and basically pointless post is that I'm pretty bored, and I decided today that I want to start a blog. I'll try and think of something more exciting to write about next time.
